January 3, 2008: Theft and assault: Larry Cornell Wing, a Baltimore resident, faced armed robbery and assault charges after he and another man allegedly robbed at gunpoint Auto Sound Innovations (1840 Liberty Rd.) in Eldersburg. The theft was valued at less than $500. Read more (Carroll County Times)

February 2008: Theft: Four people were charged in a series of church thefts throughout 2007. George Sebek, Peiter Deboer, David Snyder and a juvenile were arrested in relation to burglaries at Wesley Freedom Methodist Church (961 Johnsville Rd.) and St. Joseph’s Catholic Community Church (915 Liberty Rd.), both in Eldersburg. Among the items stolen were money and electronics equipment, including computers. Read more (WBAL news)

Feb.15, 2008: Sex crime: Wei Chin, a Chinese national living in Eldersburg, was arrested for trying to solicit sex with a police officer who was posing as a 14-year-old girl. Read more (Department of Justice news release)

Feb. 25, 2008: Assault: Michael Pangborn, then 19, was treated and released from the hospital after being stabbed on the 1000 block of Stonebrook Rd. in Eldersburg. Read more (WBAL news)

April 10, 2008: Threat: State, local and federal authorities investigated a shooting threat made in a letter delivered to the Eldersburg Wal-Mart (1320 Liberty Rd.). This letter was part of a string of letters sent around the Carroll area, all to Wal-Mart department stores. Read more (Gazette)

May 23, 2008: Robbery: Two masked gunmen came into the 7-Eleven in the 2000 block of Liberty Rd. and demanded money from the clerk. One had a sawed-off shotgun and the other a handgun. The men took $68, lottery tickets and cigarettes before leaving. Read more (Carroll County Times)

July 23, 2008: Drugs: Gergory Sellars, who lived within 1,000 feet of Eldersburg Elementary School (1021 Liberty Rd.), was found guilty of manufacturing marijuana. Sellars had more than 50 marijuana plants in his basement. Read more

August 3, 2008: Theft: Four scooters were stolen from Eldersburg’s Scootertronics (1936 Liberty Rd.), totaling in a $5000 loss. Read more

August 12, 2008: Theft: Four more scooters were stolen from Eldersburg’s Scootertronics (1936 Liberty Rd.) as well as helmets and gloves. The total losses were estimated at about $10,000. Read more

Oct. 24, 2008: Theft: An elderly man was robbed by three men outside his apartment at the 6300 block of Georgetown Boulevard. The robbers stole the man’s wallet and appeared to be armed with a black semiautomatic weapon. Read more (Carroll County Times)

Dec. 20, 2008: Theft: A Bobcat loader was stolen from a construction site in Eldersburg at Brevard Boulevard. The loader was valued at $50,000. Read more (Carroll County Times)

Dec. 23, 2008: Robbery: A man was robbed at gunpoint after giving a Sykesville and a Randallstown resident a ride from an Eldersburg gas station. Two hundred dollars were stolen. The gun was a BB gun replica and not an actual firearm. Read more (Carroll County Times)

Dec. 29, 2008: Vandalism: Vandals slashed tires on 38 cars in the Eldersburg area. The damage was estimated at $6,000. Read more (Carroll County Times)

Jan. 23, 2009: Intimidation: Ethel Bennett allegedly tried to help her brother arrange a gang-related assault on a man the brother was believed to have robbed at gunpoint on Dec. 23. The brother, J. W. Bennett, called his sister with the favor while he was in the Carroll County Detention Center. Read more (Carroll County Times)

March 3, 2009: Donald Pevia was arrested for and later indicted for the murder of Ky’leigh Rogers, an 8-month-old child residing in the 900 block of Caren Drive in Eldersburg. Read more (Carroll Eagle)

March 19, 2009: Sexual offense: A rape was reported at the 6500 block of Carrolltown Village Rd. at 2:31 p.m. (Crime Reports)

March 23, 2009: Theft: A theft was reported at the 1000 block of Berkley Drive at 5:56 p.m. (Crime Reports)

March 24, 2009: Sex offense: A sex offense was reported at the 5500 block of Hodges Rd. at 2:28 p.m. (Crime Reports)

March 28, 2009: Breaking and entering: Breaking and entering was reported at the 6500 block of Macbeth Way at 4:15 p.m. (Crime Reports)

April 7, 2009: Sex offense: A sex offense was reported at the 900 block of Central Avenue at 8:44 a.m. (Crime Reports)

April 8, 2009: Theft: A theft from a vehicle was reported at Miriam Drive and Victor Drive at 10:07 p.m. (Crime Reports)

April 10, 2009: Theft: A theft from a vehicle was reported at the 6600 block of Jeremiahs Drive at 12:05 p.m. (Crime Reports)

April 19, 2009: Theft: A theft from a vehicle was reported at the 6100 block of Timdan Ct. at 12:19 p.m. (Crime Reports)

May 4, 2009: Theft: A man in his 20’s shoplifted from the K-Mart in Eldersburg (6400 Ridge Rd.), stealing Prilosec medication and several Oil of Olay products. Read more (Carroll Eagle)

May 6, 2009: Breaking and entering: Breaking and entering was reported at the 2800 block of Liberty Rd. at 9:22 a.m. (Crime Reports)

May 22, 2009: Theft: A theft was reported at the 6300 block of Georgetown Blvd. at 1:20 a.m. (Crime Reports)

June 16, 2009: Sex offense: A sex offense was reported at the 5700 block of Formosa Drive in Eldersburg at 10 a.m. (Crime Reports)

June 16, 2009: Theft: A theft from a vehicle was reported at the 1000 block of Balsam Lane at 3:49 p.m. (Crime Reports)

July 5, 2009: Assault: An assault was reported at the 600 block of Green Valley Way at 12:06 a.m. (Crime Reports)

July 14, 2009: Theft: A Chesapeake Beach teen shoplifted from the Eldersburg Kmart, stealing $10 worth of cubic zirconium earrings. Read more

July 17, 2009: Theft: A theft was reported at the 6500 block of Church St. at 5:50 p.m. (Crime Reports)

July 18, 2009: Theft: A theft was reported at the 800 block of Martz Rd. at 1:09 p.m. (Crime Reports)

July 22, 2009: Theft: A theft was reported at the 5700 block of Oklahoma Rd. at 11:22 a.m. (Crime Reports)

July 28, 2009: A string of thefts from cars occurred between July 27 and 28 in Eldersburg where equipment was stolen, including cash, CDs, computer equipment and jewelry. The estimated worth of all of the items was $9000. The locations are below.

Aug. 4, 2009: Sexual offense: A sex offense was reported at the 6500 block of Church St. at 12:02 p.m. (Crime Reports)

Aug. 10, 2009: Theft: A theft was reported at the Eldersburg Kmart at 9:31 a.m. (Crime Reports)

Aug. 12, 2009: Theft: A laptop and various CDs were taken from a car parked outside of South Carroll High School. The car windows were partially open, allowing the thieves to easily enter the vehicle. Read more (Carroll County Times)
