Freedom District Lions End Successful Year
at the Sykesville VFD Carnival
The Freedom District Lions ended their Lions Year, which ran from July, 2008 to June, 2009 with a successful French Fry Sale at the Sykesville VFD Carnival in June. Over 2,400 pounds of fresh potatoes were cut into French Fries and sold to hungry attendees. This was only one of many fund raisers which enabled the Freedom District Lions to donate to charitable causes in Carroll County as well as other locations throughout the world. The Freedom District Lions would like to thank all of those who supported our Spring Fling, Fruit and Onion sales, our double basket bingo and all of our other fund raisers. Our 4th annual Double Basket Bingo is scheduled for August 22nd at the Sykesville Freedom VFD Hall at Route 32 and Freedom Ave. For your $40.00 admission fee, you receive breakfast, lunch and 40 games of basket bingo. There will also be raffles, Jackpot games and several of the popular King Tutt games where someone will win 5 Longaberger baskets in each game.
