On
Friday, January 8, Freedom Fitness in Carrolltown Mall raised $162
for Carroll County Foods in an effort to fight hunger.
Freedom
Fitness , part of the Freedom
Area Recreation Council (FARC), hosted a “A Taste of ZUMBA”
from 7 to 8 p.m. , with each participant donating $5 to Carroll
County Foods.
ZUMBA
is a dance-inspired group fitness class that uses Latin rhythms
and easily followed moves to create a dynamic but easily learned
workout. The routine mixes fast and slow rhythms to help tone and
burn fat. Friday’s group danced to Latin based and modern
pop music.
Tracy
Cox, a fitness instructor with over ten years of experience, led
the exercise class.
“Friday
night was a fun dance party,” said Cox. “This was a
great way to nourish our bodies with ZUMBA, and feed the hungry
- a great time was had by all.”
