sun-heatThe South Carroll Senior and Community Center, as well as the Eldersburg Library, will have a cooling center open due to the Maryland Department of the Environment issuing a Code Orange air quality alert for Baltimore and DC Metro areas because of the temperature and humidty forecast for this week.  People often sensitive to the heat and humidity include the elderly, small children, and any person with a health condition making them suseptible to heat exhaustion or stroke.

Residents are encouraged to use the cooling centers during normal business hours as needed and to stay safe in the heat.

The South Carroll Senior Center and Community Center is located at: 5928 Mineral Hill Road, Eldersburg, MD and is open 8AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday.

The Eldersburg Library is located at: 6400 Hemlock Drive, Eldersburg, MD and is open Monday - Thursday 9AM - 8:45PM and Friday and Saturday 9AM - 5PM.
