The Board of County Commissioners is seeking business leaders from Carroll County to represent the county on the Mid-Maryland Workforce Investment Board (Mid-MD WIB). Commissioners appoint directors to a three-year term. The Mid-MD WIB provides policy guidance and oversight of the One-Stop Workforce Development System in conjunction with local elected officials and workforce development service providers to make the system responsive and effective. The Carroll County Business & Employment Resource Center in Westminster is the local workforce center which provides free employment services to job seekers and businesses.

Quarterly board meetings are held in Westminster or Columbia. Additionally, members are asked to serve on sub-committees, such as Strategic Planning, Youth Council, Board Development, or specific workgroups. Candidates for appointment are asked to complete an application and submit a bio or resume of their experience. Board activities and meeting minutes are archived on the Mid-Maryland WIB website at www.mid-marylandwib.org.
