Construction on Carroll Station II in Eldersburg is almost complete. Wonder what new business ventures will be moving in to fill the newly-created space?

The new complex is located next to its sister station Carroll Station I, just before the intersection of Ridge Road and MD 26. Carroll Station I, built about 5 years ago, hosts RadioShack, Mattress Warehouse and Luna Rossa, among other businesses.

Carroll Station II, according to leaser Scott Miller, will host businesses that do not compete with surrounding endeavors. "We want to have some diversity there and have it such that each tenant complements each other," he said.

"We want each business to stand on its own," he added, emphasizing he did not want to add like businesses that would drain each other's customers.

Because of legal concerns and ongoing negotiations Miller could only give the details of one business moving in. He said Eldersburg Liquors would be taking up about 50 percent of the new building. It is slated to move into Carroll Station II within the first two weeks of August, he added. The construction on the new plaza will be completed within the end of July to early August timeframe.

Miller said he was looking at two more tenants to fill the remainder of the building. He kept one shrouded in mystery, but said that the other would be a national restaurant chain. Though the chain will have a later arrival date. "I wouldn't expect them in there until Octoberish," Miller said. "I think they'll be a real good fit."
